Teledermatology Company Adds Dr. Clay Cockerell to Medical Advisory Board

MyDerm Portal, a market leader in teledermatology solutions, has just announced the addition of Dr. Clay Cockerell to their Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Cockerell is a renowned dermatologist and noted expert in dermatology and dermatopathology.

Teledermatology firm MyDerm Portal, Inc.,, developers of a telemedicine platform designed specifically for dermatologists to see patients over the internet, announced today that world-renowned dermatologist, Clay Cockerell, M.D. has been appointed to the company’s Medical Advisory Board.

Dr. Cockerell said, “I am excited to be involved with MyDerm Portal and for the opportunity to help progress telemedicine in my field of dermatology. An internationally recognized pioneer in his field and a board certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist; he has been practicing medicine since 1986. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Director of the Division of Dermatopathology. He is the author of over 750 publications, including a number of books.

“I met Paul while mentoring at the Health Wildcatters accelerator and was impressed with the current position of the company and its mission to advance teledermatology,” said Cockerell. “I look forward to providing a new perspective and contributing to the success of MyDerm Portal.”

Dr. Cockerell has held numerous national leadership positions in highly regarded medical associations and is a Past President of the Texas Dermatological Society, and the Dallas Dermatological Society among others. He has served on many editorial boards of medical journals as well as the boards of directors for a number of companies including Ameripath. A tireless advocate and trailblazer in the study and treatment of all skin conditions, he has also lectured extensively around the world and is the director of several educational seminars and conferences.

He joins Dr. Neil Shah and Dr. Iltefat Hamzavi on MyDerm Portal’s Medical Advisory Board.
