Kathy Chiu is a managing partner of DeepWork Capital, a Florida based venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology and life science companies. Kathy and two partners started their first fund in 2015 after their experiences in angel investing led them to believe a professionally managed fund is not only feasible but beneficial for both investors and the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. Their first investment returned over 20X upon exit and proved their thesis. Prior to DeepWork, Kathy’s career spanned multiple disciplines. She was the first product manager of a network storage company that ultimately sold to HP, and a quantitative analyst in an economic consulting firm. She launched a voice-over-IP product at a Fortune 500 telecom company, and was an investment associate at a wireless technology venture capital firm. During her time as an independent consultant, she specialized in emerging market assignments, advising client companies in new market entry and international business development. She has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
